May Meeting 2008

 

Minutes of the meeting held on Saturday 27th April 2008 in the Marton Hotel & Country,

Stokesley Road, Marton, Middlesbrough.

 

This meeting was brought forward due to the meeting room being required for the Regimental Band to change before attending the Homecoming parade at Middlesbrough Football Club.

 

The Chairman opened the meeting at 12.00hrs.

 

PRESENT:   J Ferguson, (Chairman) E Cook (Secretary), I Camp (Treasurer) F Gilchrist, T Campbell,

                      Sgt D Waters, M Winspear, J Fletcher & J Roddam.

                   

APOLOGIES: V/P M Finkill, G Bell, P Hellings, H Taylor, W Spence, D Blackburn & P Simpson.

                        

                          

 

Minutes of the Previous Meeting: The minutes of the meeting held on Saturday, April 5th 2008 were read and deemed a true record.

Matters arising from the minutes: Nil

 

 

Correspondence: In. a) New bank paying in book.

                                   b) Letter from RHQ regarding Regimental Funds

                                   c) Letter from Sgt D Holland No 7 Company.                           .

Matters arising from the correspondence: Nil

 

Proposed: J Roddam                            Seconded: M Winspear. That the correspondence be adopted.

 

Treasurers Report: Treasurer I Camp gave a detailed report of the accounts.

 

Welfare Report: The Secretary reported that he had received a phone call from Mr A Skinner who had attended the St George’s Dinner enquiring about the health of Mr Harry Taylor who had taken ill at the dinner and had been taken home by Mr P Ord. The secretary informed him that he knew nothing, but had on the morning of the meeting met with Harry and enquired of his health. He was informed that Harry’s other kidney was now infected and was awaiting a further appointment.

The Chairman informed the branch that Vice President Mac Finkill’s mother was also ill in hospital.

                              

Social Secretary: The Chairman reported that the St George’s Dinner had been an excellent night.

The Secretary requested any further names for York Races ASAP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Any Other Business:  The Secretary reminded the members who had not returned their sweepstakes tickets to do so before May 4th 2008, as they had to be returned with monies to RHQ in London.

 

The secretary gave an update on the progress of the Homecoming parade at Middlesbrough Football Club on Saturday 3rd May 2008.

Sgt Waters informed the Secretary that the officer I/C Middlesbrough Recruiting Office could have helped with the arrangements; the secretary in reply remarked that he was not aware of this help.

 

Being no further business to discuss the Chairman thanked the members for their attendance and closed the meeting at 12.25hrs
