On Thursday 4^th May 2006, Brigadier J Wardle ObE, Captain Billy Matthews and myself attended a meeting with the York Racecourse management team of William Derby and James Brennan to discuss the arrangements for the day.

We will have the Sportsman’s Bar once again for our exclusive use, with bar/catering facilities, the bar will remain open until after the last race has been run. A tipster will be available to give early advice.

Note:- Entry will only be allowed by Association Membership card, Regimental tie or Branch guest card.

There will be guardsmen on the door in No1 Dress to ensure no outsiders are allowed entry.

The Regimental Band will be in attendance to play throughout the day and at the presentation of the Coldstream Cup.

The Cup will be presented by Mr and Mrs J D F M Thornton OBE, the President of Bradford Branch, Mrs Thorton’s family are ths Sponsors of the race.

Tickets at discount prices can be obtained from York Racecourse through branch secretaries only.

So come along and enjoy a good days racing and meet up with old friends.
